Evaluation of AS Foundation Production module

Evaluation

How successful was my research of real media? How could my research skills be improved?
I think that my research of real media was detailed for what I needed; I feel I could've done further research into my topic, and research things that would've helped me, or furthered my project to the higher grade. I could've researched more magazines, to see different styles of magazines and how institutions used photography and editing. However I feel the research I did do, helped with designing and subjects to include in the magazine. Also I feel that I should've improved my research skills and by using different search techniques, like media books and magazines.

How successful was my audience research? How could I have made my results more meaningful in order to take them into account when producing my media product?
I feel that my audience research was lacking information. I feel like I didn't do enough research for my magazine, and did not include enough information for the research. However I did use the questionnaire as the main part as my audience research. As I felt I would get actually opinions of people's ideas and interests to create my magazine. I feel that if I did focus groups and looked into more different ways of getting the audiences opinions of my magazine, I would've gathered more information on their thoughts, it would've meant more to my audience and they would've enjoyed it more.

How successfully did I keep my blog up to date? How could I have made better use of its multimedia capacity?
At the beginning and near the end of the project I kept my work up-to-date. I was making my post's regularly, but I wouldn't upload them until they were completed, as I felt it gave an unprofessional, and un-tidy look to my blog. I feel that I could've used different types of bloggers multimedia servers to show different forms of presenting my work.

How successfully did I manage my time? How could I have organised my production more effectively? How could I have improved my planning and drafting process (and showing evidence of these stages for the examiner?
I feel that I managed my time well, but I could've done a lot better, to keep up to date with all my work, as I felt in the last few months of the project I had a lot of work to do. I feel my blog shows that I rushed slightly near the end of the project, but overall it turned out well. I finished the product by the dealine, I created my evaluation includng different bloggers multimedia servers and that I encluded enough detail for each part. However I feel that I could've added a lot more detail to each post, either by doing more research or by annotating in more detail.

How successfully did I follow the conventions of real media? Where could I have improved?
I feel I follwed the conventios of a real media magazine; including all the features of a real magazine; however I feel I didn't use the rule of 'Z' well on my magazine all together. I feel I could've included more informtaion on the Contents page. Although all together I am proud of the outcome of the magazine as a whole; I feel it follows magazine conventions, and could be passed a real magazine.

Which technology skills did I learn and develop? Which skills do I need to improve/learn in the future?
Through using InDesign, my skills developed greatly; when I first started using the software, I did not understand how to use the programme, but after practise and watching a tutorial video I learned how to use the software and understood how to use it to create my magazine. After doig my preliminary task I learned new techniques and did more research into real magazines, so I learnt how to improve my magazine. For the future tasks I need to improve and learn how to use video editing softwares and how to films properelly, so they camera stays in place. This will helpme produce a professional outcome in the future tasks.

How successful was my creation of my media text? Could I have improved or been more creative?
I feel the media text contexts I used was succesful. The interview I created for my double page spread, included questions and answers that would've drawn the audience into reading more. I do feel that I had to keep writing more t fill up the double page spread as in the first draft I didn't include enough information. I also feel the front page and contents page including enough detail to attract my reader into reading more; it shows the message and story I was trying to sell to the audience. However I feel I could've included more text on the Contents page.

Did my text fulfil the requirements of the brief in terms of Audience, Representation,Genre?
I feel my I did fulfil the requirements from the breif in my magazine. I feel my text did include the requirements from the brief; as it all linked into the genre of my music magazine, it didn't stray away from the genre and stayed incontext throughout the magazine. In the double page spread interview I included the artists personal life, their new album, songs coming up and how the artist created her work. I feel my genre kept to the requirements of the brief. Throughout the magazine I kept the genre and colourscheme the same. I feel this would attract the audience as it kept the same and didn't change throughout. I also feel my text kept to the genre, as I wrote an interview for a rock artist, so it didn't stray into a different genre.

How detailed was my evaluation? How could you have improved your discussion of the success of the finished product?
My evaluation was successful,  but could've been more detailed than it was. I could've gone into more detail answering the questions. Also I had difficulty using the bloggers multimedia servers, as they'd either not sure the correct instructions to add them to my blog, or the website would crash, or the links wouldn't work. So if a multimedia system I was using failed I had to think of a different method to use, which wouldn't always turn out the way I planned it too, or I had to include less detail.
